A startrescue.co.uk story...

With Toyota mired in controversy about the quality of its vehicles, another Far Eastern company is quietly getting on with transforming its product line-up. That firm is Hyundai. It used to be happy to be labelled a ‘budget’ brand, but then rightly figured that sounded like it was a cheapskate so swapped to being a ‘value for money’ brand. With an i10 city car that’s best in class bar none, and an all-new ix35 sports utility vehicle that’s the most convincing and complete car it’s yet launched, you could argue Hyundai is a now just a ‘very sensible choice’ brand. Every buyer will get something called Triple 5, which means five years of roadside breakdown cover, five years of free inspections and a five-year unlimited mileage warranty. That’s an industry leading package and I can’t help but think customers will love it. And it’s not there to disguise the fact that the car is rubbish. It’s not, it’s very good. Hyundai bosses used to say ‘The Koreans Are Coming!’ Make no mistake, they have arrived.
